WATOWA GALLERY is an art project production collective which promotes opportunities for art communication, with a focus on upcoming artists with fresh perspectives incorporating elements such as contemporary Japanesestreet culture, fashion, unique and cutting-edge technology, and Japanese philosophies.
With an aim to create a new society in which art is integrated into people’s lifestyles as a culture as familiar as fashion, WATOWA GALLERY produces and directs visionary exhibitions and art projects, expanding opportunities to connect with art.
Many internationally and domestically recognised art movements have developed outside of institutions, emerging from the interactions between artists of diverse backgrounds and their supporters. Not occupying a specific space, and rather regarding all spaces as potential galleries, we create projects with professionals from various fieldsoutside of established art institutions, in which art unfolds into communities, urban structures, and homes.
We also strive to support upcoming Japanese artists and young, prospective Japanese collectors alike, and to promote interaction between them. Through becoming an advocate of new modes of communication and emerging communities, WATOWA GALLERY seeks to revitalize the market and establish the art scene of the next generation.
WATOWA GALLERY has been active as a productive collective without a fixed location since 2019, and launched its first space WATOWA GALLERY / THE BOX TOKYO in Imado, Asakusa, in September 2022.

WATOWA GALLERYは、現代日本のストリートカルチャーやファッション、独創的・先進的なテクノロジーや「ジャパニーズ・フィロソフィー」を取り入れた新しい感性を持つ若手の作家を中心として、アート・コミュニケーションの場を提供するアートプロジェクト／プロデュース集団です。アートがファッションのように親しみやすいカルチャーとなり、ひとりひとりのライフスタイルに溶け込む社会を拓くため、新しい感覚のエキシビションや、アートプロジェクトのプロデュース・演出を行い、アートに触れるタッチポイントを拡大します。
現在も国内外で評価されている主要なアートムーブメントの多くは、ミュージアムの外で、そして多様なジャンルのアーティストと支援者との交流によって生まれています。わたしたちは特定のアートスペースを持たず、あらゆる空間をギャラリーと捉え、アートをミュージアムからコミュニティへ、都市へ、住空間へ開放し、ミュージアムの外からさまざまな分野のプロフェッショナルと横断的なアートプロジェクトを発信していきます。さらに、日本の若手アーティストの活躍と日本の若手コレクターの参入をサポートし、アーティストと支援者の交流を促進します。
WATOWA GALLERYを媒介とした新しいコミュニケーションやコミュニティの育成によって、次の時代のアートシーンを創造し、市場の活性化を目指します。2019年より特定の場所を持たないプロデュース集団としての活動をしておりましたが、2022年９月より、初のWATOWA GALLERYの本拠地となる WATOWA GALLERY / THE BOX TOKYOを浅草・今戸にローンチしました。
