MireyHiroki has been operating as two individuals while functioning as one artist. These two individuals, either individually or together, have absorbed various elements such as (special) makeup, film, fashion, and street (hippie) culture, mainly in different parts of the United States since the 1980s. As a result, Milay Hiroki's artistic practice possesses a breadth and depth akin to "being many already just by the fact that there were two people" (Gilles Deleuze + Félix Guattari, "A Thousand Plateaus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia").

Consistently, Mirey Hiroki has been creating works with the motif of "flowers." Using the last remaining crayons when their funds were depleted, the two drew flowers on a piece of washi paper. These flowers transcended the canvas, extending beyond the confines of galleries and museums. Having spread throughout public spaces both domestically and internationally, even after leaving the hands of the creators, these flowers continue to proliferate like autonomous living organisms. In this exhibition, the contemporary aspects illuminated by Milay Hiroki's flowers will be presented, despite going through challenges such as the pandemic and the invasion of Ukraine.
